I tried converting one of my friends to ubuntu many times. Each time he would come back to XP like a dog in search of his house at the end of a nice evening stride. But, the last time, his pirated installation of XP had irritated him so much that he asked me to do something about it. I happily repaired his system and upon confirmation from him, installed ubuntu. I get a call from him in two days asking for an XP cd again. This was the final straw. It was like a slap on the face. I decided never to advice or recommend anything to anyone ever.
