Now don’t ask me when I started writing novels, but, I just feel like it. Maybe its the nice weather, or maybe its whats happening with my life right now? I might just write a serious novel, if I were to start writing one. The main problem though is the lack of proper english words flow, being from a non-english speaking country.

I tried converting one of my friends to ubuntu many times. Each time he would come back to XP like a dog in search of his house at the end of a nice evening stride. But, the last time, his pirated installation of XP had irritated him so much that he asked me to do something about it. I happily repaired his system and upon confirmation from him, installed ubuntu.
I get a call from him in two days asking for an XP cd again. This was the final straw. It was like a slap on the face. I decided never to advice or recommend anything to anyone ever.

Another ‘woes’ post. Yesterday, we lost electricity for about 4-5 hours, after which electricity returned, but due to a faulty transformer , we had proper current in one part of the house, and extremely low voltage in the other part. Ignorant of the latter fact, I switched on my computer, and … Bhum!!. My SMPS is fried. Along with, the wiring fries, and the TV cable connector also fried. Everything was pitch black. Poor quality voltage has killed my SMPS many a time, but this is the very first time that other components were also affected, and to such a large extent.
I’m currently looking at solutions to protect my computer from such power disturbance.

A few days back, my wehost suddenly shut down its server. After waiting for hours, I finally called the webhosting guy, and it was only then that he noticed that!! It seems there was some guy who bought just too much traffic for too long a time, and so the datacenter guys just switched off the server. It took nearly two long days to get the server and my websites back.
2 days is too long a downtime allowed for a webhost, and I also have mine as well as @ubuntu.org.in and .co.in people relying on their emails, hence I decided to switch to a better webhost. I chose Godaddy, coz I wanted reliability. Customer service wasn’t my preference( its known godaddy sucks at that), as I was already familiar with webhosting and stuff. I’m now writing after having migrated my website to Godaddy’s webhosting service. I feel lot safer.
