A visit to the temple, and a cop.
This friday, we planned a visit to the nearest temple (45miles from Kingsville) to get an ayudha puja done for his new (seconds) car. We stopped mid-way at Driscoll, to get some onions and other fruits for cheap at the flea market. When we were finished, we were backing up the car, we had an old woman bang right into the rearish-side of our car. She said she couldn’t see us coming. WTH? We called up 911, and in a few minutes, there was this villain-ish looking cop. He didn’t allow us to talk. Elderly people are given chance to speak first. We didn’t know that. After coming to the conclusion that the mistake was on the woman’s side, he started writing a report, that took nearly 40 min. Remember EAMCET? Uhh..
We went back home, since we (not me) thought we hadn’t started at an auspicious time, and hence had to encounter this.
We started to Corpus Christi and went straight to the beach, since the temple wouldn’t open up till 5:30. The person driving was Tony. Don’t know where he was looking, but he took us straight into a paid parking system. And after roaming inside trying to get out, we called the mgmt to know that we were supposed to get a parking ticket from the Auqarium. Great.
We managed to go to the temple after that incident. The temple seemed more like a mixture of all religions. It had a minar-ish thing that looked like it was either a muslim/sikh place of worship. Inside it looked like a church, with chairs, and neatly built rooms, and furnishing. Then we had various Gods’ idols.
We returned home hungry like hell, without any further incidents.
